Suite Accommodation

Nice and clean place... but bathroom without bidet (we are in Italy!) and more seriously the windows were sealed, you could not open!!! Normal breakfast but 700 meters , in another structure! Small parking with road to get there very steep!

Rooms are large and tastefully decorated and the communal areas quirky. This accommodation forms part of three in the area (Castello and Volpi) and features only three rooms. Therefore the pool is very small but very private as we were the only guests at the time. Reception is based at Villa Volpi so prepare for a bit of a trek back down if you're staying here (and back up for breakfast and dinner). Beds were comfortable and the fancy bathrooms feature an actual bath, the first we have seen in several places we have stayed in Tuscany. Great location for experiencing the lovely Lucca but also the Tuscan countryside.

We just loved this place. Its position on a hillside that overlooks tuscany was just stunning. The rooms are very sweet and tastefully done. You can walk across to the castello (about 20 min) which is so scenic and beautiful. My husband and I felt like we were the only ones out there and it was just so romantic. Its a really nice sunset walk :) It is about a 20 minute drive to the town of Lucca, so if you're looking to be around a lot of restaurants and shops within walking distance this is not your place. Although I don't know many people who would travel to tuscany to be around all of that in the first place, as the countryside is so beautiful. I feel badly for forgetting the woman at the front desk's name, but she was one of the sweetest, most accommodating people I had met in Italy. She truly cared about the quality of our stay, and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. We arrived when the restaurant was closed and we were starving, so she went to the kitchen and personally made us a lovely meat and cheese plate with a bottle of wine. GREAT hospitality. This place was one of the highlights of our trip in Italy, and we would absolutely come back. I wish we had stayed for longer!
