Ercolano Hotel

Checked in at the Hotel Herculaneum on May 29. Room was okay but not immediately the wow feeling. The back of the hotel is located in a residential area right on the center. Very much noise from singing and tipsy people, many barking dogs all night terrible!! We spent the last two days of our beautiful Italy experience in a better hotel in Pompeii. We have communicated our displeasure to the travel company, we do not know if they can compensate anything with this. Armand and Jacqueline

Very bad experience, hard beds, lots of noise from the street in front of it and barking dogs. Unfortunately, Hotel Hercaluneum Ercolane did not meet expectations. The beds were very hard, which certainly did not promote comfort. The noise from the street was also quite disturbing, so a good night's sleep is not possible. On early departure, not a single question was asked about our experience, so no service at all. Moreover, we did not get a refund and we also had to pay for parking, which brought extra frustration. All in all it was very disappointing and we do not recommend this hotel. We booked this hotel in a package tour organized by Bebsy. Their response was the following: Dear, (our name is not mentioned) First of all, I apologize that the last hotel of your trip did not meet your expectations. We really appreciate your feedback and will definitely include it in our evaluations. However, since you have chosen to book another hotel independently, as you indicated in your last e-mail, unfortunately we can no longer do anything for you. Stayed in a quad room with 2 adult and 2 children (11 and 14). Location: The location is brilliant, just a 10 minute walk from the Ercolano Scavi station, giving easy access to Naples and the Sorrento area - we took the train to Pompeii, it didn’t take long, but we found the train network incredibly confusing and unreliable, so watch out if you have times tickets for any tourist attraction. Room: The rooms are a little tired, but very clean. There was plenty of space in the room for 4 people and the beds were super comfortable. There is a fridge in the room with a selection of drinks in, which you pay for what you take. We just stored our own drinks in here. Breakfast: Breakfast is very basic with a small selection of meat and cheese, bread, hard boiled eggs, yoghurt and some croissants. Adequate to start your day. Service: Service was very good, when we arrived we were greeted by Matteo who gave us lots of hints and tips for getting around and good places to eat; we ate at Rovi (across the road from the entrance) a couple of times and it was absolutely delicious. My husband arrived a day late and the hotel organised a taxi from Naples airport to the hotel, which we paid for when we checked out (€60).
