Arrived to find the lift is programmed to go to levels 1 3 and 4 not to level 2 where you need to check in best to go to level 3 and walk down with heavy suitcases, my wife had booked and paid for the room with booking.com the guy at the front desk told us we need to pay when we told him that we had already paid he asked us to cancel the booking as he could give us a better price when we told him the bank has already taken the money he became all animated this guy is a real dropkick.The room was spacious main problem is the smell that comes out of the toilet that doesn't have a toilet seat.Breakfasy is a lottery especially the " cappuccino", the only saving grace is the girls who do housekeeping who are good. Feel safer on the street than dealing with the desk guy, won't go back there again. The room was supposed to have a safe and slippers they don't exist and we weren't going to ask the "manager" who would become agitated.

worst hotel I have ever stayed at, and I have stayed at some questionable places. starting off, there is no toilet seat, and the location is very sketchy. not to mention to enter the building, you have to ring a bell (and it is unclear where to ring). the bed sheets were covered in hair and dirty (as if they had not been washed). The price for this place makes no sense. according to my traveling expertise, the price should be no more than 50 total per night. However, that is not the worst part. I have to talk about an experience that I had here that I’ve never had anywhere else. My friend and I were coming back around 8:30 pm from dinner. Obviously we were feeling a bit scared since we are tourists and people of color from America. we began to ring the bell to enter the gates to the hotel, but nobody opened it. We rang it a couple more times, and then somebody finally opened it. When going up to our room and old white man met us and asked us what the problem was and if he could see our room keys. he said he was the owner. we then gave him the key and told him our room number. he kept the keys and started yelling at us, saying that we should not ring the bell more than once. We explained that we rang it, and nobody opened it, and we are feeling threatened from the people outside. He withhold our room keys from us, and started mocking our inability to speak Italian. he said that we had woken him up with ringing the gate (even though the only way to enter is by ringing the gate). Keep in mind it was 8:30 PM. we then apologized because we just wanted to go back to our room and finally he gave us our keys back. I was feeling very frustrated and asked my friend if I should go up and talk to him about opening the gate and my friend said there was no reason and we should go back to our room. We started heading back to our room and the owner chased us and entered our room and started asking me why I was making facial expressions. He then told me he was watching me on the camera and started grinning. As a young female, I felt very threatened and scared. He stepped foot into our room (invading our privacy) and kept asking me “what is the problem miss”, when I started to explain, he kept interrupting me asking me “what is the problem”, and mocking me and my facial expressions. My friend then stepped in to help explain, and the owner says “i don’t have a problem, you do” as he pointed a finger into my friends face and start spitting. We feel like we have been hate crimed, robbed of money, and our privacy has been invaded. do not stay here. I don’t even know how this place is functioning. not only is this place horrendous, but the owner is looking at people in cameras and mocking them. Very very scary.

Please note: "Hotel Iris" in the same building has the same owner, front desk and staff. This was no doubt the worst place we've ever stayed at :D First of all, the neighbourhoods surrounding the central station are really rough. The only spoken language seems to be French... Do yourself a favour and don't stay in this part of town at all. The old town due west has a much nicer and safer atmosphere. Our room had a funky smell, broken power outlets, missing lightbulbs, a tiny and dirty shower without any holder for the shower handle, and a clogged drain to match. The advertised "canal view" was actually a slum backyard, with what sounded like a mechanical shop opening loudly before 7 am. Of course the A/C unit was out of order (although the manager said that it was automatic and worked while we weren't in the room:) so we had to have our window open during the night. The mosquitos didn't seem to mind though... The general hotel descriptions at the Expedia-based booking sites seems to list everything NOT available at the hotel. The tiny, one-person elevator is even coin-operated. The only thing they got right was that the windows could be opened. When we complained the manager blamed everything on Expedia.
