For the 25th April 2014 week end, my boyfriend and I booked a double room there. However, once arrived there we found out that the residence do not exist anymore since months. The building administration told us that the hotel was removed by judicial decision for not paying the rent.

The hotel is on the 2nd floor and kind of hard to find if you're looking for a big sign. The address is important to know because it is inside a haøø and up two floors. You also have to check in before 18.00, after that they close the doors. It's not a luxurious hotel, but it's clean, the bathroom is nice and it has a lot of charm. The breakfeast is typically Italian, so if you expect english breakfeast you will be dissapointed;) It's located in the middle of Via Toledo and the shopping street is amazing if you like to shop. Not too expensive. It takes 10 minutes down to the harbour and Castel dell'Ovo.

Although the reception and lounge/breakfast room are impressive with their XVIII century atmosphere and high ceilings, this neapolitan pensione doesn't live up to the challenge of providing good service. Internet connexion didn't work, reception was always closed during the entire weekend, and so was the breakfast room. Clogged bathroom drains, crackled paint on the walls, the place is overall shabby and not well kept. The location, the Quartieri Spagnoli in downtown Naples, turned out to be run-down, dirty and unsafe at night, far from the charm it might suggest in pictures found on the Web. On the good side, rooms are spacious, the Residence is quite central and walking-distance to many important monuments such as Piazza del Plebiscito, two major palaces (Palazzo Reale and Castel Nuovo) and the Museo Archeologico. In a nutshell, not recommended. d
