Marincanto

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It was amazingly beautiful when we entered the lobby and our room was so spacious and bright (after the tight quarters in Florence at city center). The room was spotless and offered a balcony over the sea, with views back to the Positano cupola. The breakfast spread was beautiful and bountiful, from items set out (rolls, cold cuts, yogurt, fruit, cereal) and then cooked to order omelettes. The staff was helpful with questions about banking hours, etc. Only spent one night here before moving on to our villa nearby with 6 other couples but packed in the fun. Ate at La Taverna, which offers a shuttle to their restaurant, not to be missed!

Our summer trip to Italy was made truly exceptional thanks to our stay at this phenomenal hotel right on the main strip. From the moment we stepped through the doors, the service was absolute perfection. We were greeted by Paolo at the front desk after a long, exhausting walk. He was incredibly kind and welcoming, immediately handing us a refreshing drink to unwind. Paolo went above and beyond to secure us the absolute best room possible, and his local knowledge was invaluable—his personal recommendations for authentic regional restaurants, hidden sites, and local shops completely shaped our trip for the better. The accommodations were breathtaking. The villas offered a fantastic, panoramic view of the coastline that made every morning feel special. Having exclusive access to a private beach reserved strictly for hotel guests was a major highlight, especially during the quieter autumn season. With its prime location, world-class hospitality, and unbeatable setting, this property exceeded all of our expectations. We will definitely be back!

Except for the long, yellow haired female staff member in glasses at the concierge, we were satisfied with everything. At check-in, we requested at conceirge to book a taxi at the check-out time, the day after tomorrow, 8 a.m. I also received a confirmation call from the lobby around 7:30 on the day of checkout. But the employee asked whether we had not booked the taxi. The handover may not be carried out properly. It happens often. Nevertheless, we are quite dissatisfied with the rude attitude. The employee ordered that it would only take five minutes to walk to the destination, and ordered us not to take a taxi and to walk. People take taxis not only because the distance is long, but also because they have a lot of luggage. We requested a taxi because we had a lot of luggage. Even though the hotel was at fault for the taxi not arriving, the subsequent response was very inadequate, and the staff spoke to us very rude. The staff were those who severely diminished the hotel’s dignity, and her attitude ruined the end of a wonderful three days we had spent there. During the time we stayed, we spent the whole day talking about staying again at Hotel Marincanto if we came back to Positano, but because of that staff member, even if we return to Positano, it seems we won’t be going back to Hotel Marincanto. I’m not sure whether she is rude only to Asians or to everyone in general, but I am convinced that if that employee is not retrained, it will cause significant disruption to the hotel’s operations. I enjoy traveling and have stayed at various hotels before, and most of those experiences were satisfying, but it was the first time we were upset by an employee’s attitude. So I’m leaving a slightly longer review. Please kindly take note.
