Domus Aequana

Visited the hotel in September and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is fairly basic but clean and tidy and the breakfasts are simple but adequate and were offered to us on the delightful terrace. The hotel is small and welcoming with a nice garden to relax in. The manager and staff are very friendly and helpful. Room 11 has a Juliet balcony and fabulous views of Vesuvius and the bay of Naples and is worth paying the extra cost. (See photo) A short walk down a hill brings you to the central square of Vico Equense where there are plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy. Walk a bit further to the marina and beaches. Beware of rip off taxi drivers! Always get a price first. The railway station is only a 10 Minute walk from the hotel where you can get a train to Pompei, Sorrento, or Naples. Only 2 euros to Sorrento and 20 minutes. Trains run every 30 minutes. In my opinion this is a great place to stay if you want to travel about easily, avoid lots of tourists and get the feel of a real Italian village. Top tip - Before you book - email the hotel directly for a price!

We spent 5 nights and I can tell that it is a very lovely hotel not too far from the center of Vico Equense (5mins walk ) but on a quiet place. Breakfast is good, and you can eat outside in the terrace, rooms are big and clean, bed was comfortable and we had housekeeping every day. The staff and owner are lovely too, they always helped us with any question or favour. We really enjoyed and would recommend for anyone is looking for a price value accomodation close to Sorrento, Pompei, Vezuvio, etc.

We really enjoyed our stay here and it is a great option for a affordable accommodation within the Amalfi coast. Our room was comfortable , clean and had good air-conditioning. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a bit of an uphill walk from the town but manageable. The hotel is nearby the train station which gives quick access to Sorrento and Pompeii.
