Il Platano

A large room in an apartment, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was basic but just adequate. About a 10 minute walk to the town and train station down a well lite walkway. Parking is limited in the secure area however we had no problem, This was one of the more expensive B & B's we stayed in during a month in Italy and Sicily due to the Sorrento location. It was adequate however I would not stay there again, Luigi's limited English was not too much of a problem

This is not a hotel, but just a private apartment renting out rooms. The so called sea view balcony was very small and also used by the owner to hang out the washing. The rooms were not clean. When we booked via internet this was advertised as a 3 star hotel, so we did not check in, but the owner took the full amount off our credit card. At the same time as we looked at the room, another person from France did the same and was also shocked and decided not to check in. The whole apartment looked very cramped and it seemed that the owner also lived there while renting out the two bedrooms.

The owner, Luigi was very nice and accommodating. There are only 3 rooms in the b&b, so plenty space. when you go down for breakfast he will make you real italian coffee. the rooms are large, with a private balcony. spotlessly clean, with fantastic air con, satellite tv channels, and very reasonable priced. the location is outside of sorrento city centre. however the train station is only 10mins walk away. was a great find.
