Unfortunately, our stay was a true nightmare, especially considering the particular emergency situation in which we found ourselves. Even before arriving at the hotel, we had a serious problem: our car broke down right in the vicinity of the property. We were therefore already very stressed and worried, with three little girls aged 4, 6, and 7, and we absolutely had to leave the following day. Upon our arrival, we presented our documents. For the children, we had their health insurance cards with us, but the receptionist, in a manner we found extremely rude, told us that they were not sufficient and asked us to download the children's birth certificates. We were also told that, starting from the age of 3, it would be mandatory to have an identity card. Subsequently, we checked the regulations and this statement does not appear to be correct: the Ministry of the Interior specifies that an identity card can be issued to minors from birth and that the 3-year threshold concerns exclusively the duration of the document's validity, not a general obligation to possess it. We naturally understand the property's need to identify all guests and to fulfill the obligations required by law, but we believe that the explanation provided to us was, at the very least, inaccurate. What we found particularly unpleasant was, above all, the way the request was handled. We travel a lot and a similar situation had never happened to us. In the following days, we also stayed in other properties, in Trentino and in Arezzo, without being asked for additional documentation of this type. I simply asked if, given the emergency situation we were experiencing with the car, it was possible to avoid at least at that moment a further complication, but we did not encounter any willingness or understanding. Birth certificates were requested from us while we were still in the lobby, in front of other guests. Once we entered the room, we had another unpleasant surprise: we had booked for 2 adults and 3 children, but there were only 4 beds in the room. Our 4-year-old daughter therefore had to sleep in our bed. At the reception, we were simply told that the family rooms were like that. The situation then worsened further. My husband had gone out to look for a body shop, while I had remained alone in the room with the three children. The youngest, understandably exhausted from the long trip, the fatigue, and the situation we were experiencing, started to cry. Shortly after, we were called in our room by the reception because they had received a noise complaint and we were asked to lower our voices. Later, from that same receptionist, we learned that a staff member had been sent to listen outside our room door. We later read several reviews complaining about soundproofing issues, but in many years of traveling with our children, even when they were very small, we had never been called in our room for a child's normal crying. The following day, unfortunately, the car was still not ready at the repair shop. We therefore asked the property to help us by calling a taxi to reach the station. In this case, too, we were faced with poor service: a taxi that was too small for five people arrived because an incorrect booking had been made. Because of this error, we missed our train and were forced to wait another 2 hours and 30 minutes for the next one. What should have simply been a one-night stay turned into a sequence of inconveniences. What struck us most was the total lack, in our opinion, of availability, understanding, and attention toward a family with three young girls who were facing an unexpected car emergency. My husband also formally requested at the reception to be put in contact with the manager of the facility. Initially, the receptionist himself seemed to want to deny this possibility, claiming he needed to know the reason for the request and going so far as to ask if my husband could be involved in some way. After our insistence, we were told that the request had been forwarded, but we never received any follow-up: no contact, no message, and no response from the manager. We understand that an accommodation facility must comply with guest identification obligations and registration rules. Our negative judgment does not stem from the simple request for documents, but from the way the situation was handled, the communication we were provided, the lack of flexibility and understanding in an objectively difficult situation, and the series of service failures that occurred during the stay. Absolutely negative experience and a facility we do not feel we can recommend, **especially to families with children**

We reserved some rooms in this hotel for the guests of our wedding on June 1. We had a great time; the service is responsive and collaborative. The guests had a wonderful experience and complimented us on the cleanliness of the rooms and the abundant breakfast. The day after, the staff at Calzavecchio organized a buffet lunch for us in a dedicated space. The food was appreciated by everyone (with special mention for the gramigna with sausage), allowing us to say goodbye calmly and peacefully to friends and relatives who had stayed and those who had not. We would recommend it without hesitation for your events!
