Very happy with our experience in this hotel. Staff friendly and efficient, spacious clean room with a comfortable bed. Quiet at night even with being next to street. Great variety of foods for breakfast, with plenty of staff topping everything up constantly.

Coldholiday

I was visiting Bologna for three nights on a mini break with friends and selected this hotel primarily because of its central location. I had reserved a single room on a bed and breakfast tariff . We arrived by taxi from the airport . Access to the hotel is not easy as the cities tramway system is currently being installed throughout the city so a lot of roadworks to deal with. We were given a warm reception from staff and check in was swift allowing us to quickly get our rooms and then find a local restaurant. The whole hotel is quite old fashioned and we did notice things like thread bare carpets however the room was clean and kitted out as you would expect. Kettle minibar hair drier toiletries etc. My room was located on the third floor and had a bath with over head shower as well as a bidet . The air con worked reasonably well given the extreme weather conditions and room service changed my towels every day. The bed was comfortable and I slept well during my stay not experiencing street noise as other reports have suggested. Perhaps this was due to the construction work. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet service and provided most items I would expect for a hotel of this standard. I did not experience any shortages and there was plenty of waiters to hand. The hotel is located very well for trains and buses and is also within walking range for the cities sightseeing points . It also has an abundance of restaurants about and the ones we experienced were all great value. The checkout time of 12 noon is generous and allows some late sightseeing or shopping before departure. I would certainly recommend this hotel for a mini break stay.

Staff entered my room in the middle of the night! Great location between the train station and Piazza Maggiore on the via dell’independenzia. Room was clean. Weather was quite warm during my visit and air conditioning was minimally effective with room still quite warm even after many hours of running the A/C. Shower rather small and I either bumped the shower handle or door frequently and refrigerator did not work, Hotel staff knocked on my door at 23:30 awakening me and by the time I got to the door the staff had opened the door and started to come in. The two staff (desk person with dark curly hair and a porter) said “sorry Mr. XXXXX” and ran off. Given they called me by my name they must have known it was my room and why they came in while I was sleeping I have no idea. I asked the next morning and did not get an answer. Also provided my contact information for the manager to contact me about this and as I am writing this 5 days after departing I still have not been contacted by the manager.
