Hotel La Pioppa

When I go to Bologna I always sleep in this hotel. Fair prices, kind and helpful staff. Clean and tidy environments. Satisfactory breakfast

We stayed in this hotel only for one night while passing through and, considering the price paid (about €55), we certainly cannot complain about the value for money. The facility is very clean and the ladies we met were truly kind, helpful, and welcoming. What left us puzzled is simply the 4-star classification. The facility and the rooms are rather dated, with essential furnishings and old-fashioned air conditioning. Breakfast is also very simple: a small buffet with cold cuts, yogurt, eggs, a few croissants, fruit, and a toaster, basically all self-service, with coffee kindly prepared by the staff. For a night while passing through and at the price paid, it is absolutely fine, especially for cleanliness and courtesy. Simply put, in our experience, the services, amenities, and facility are closer to what we would expect from a good 2-star hotel than a 4-star hotel.
