Regina

This could be a very nice hotel if slight improvements were implemented but unfortunately things haven’t really moved forward since my last visit a couple of years ago. Zanhotel Regina is well located, only a ten minute walk from Bologna Centrale and also central for many sites. My room was clean and staff were friendly although it’s a hotel that seems to be running on autopilot and so much could be done to improve things. On my first night I was given a room with a view of a brick wall. The hotel did change my room but my new room was extremely small with hardly enough room to walk around the bed. There was no bedside light in the room and the light switch was located in an awkward position. The shower cubicle was probably the smallest that I’ve ever seen and the door was so small that a larger person would not be able to enter. There was nowhere to store toiletries and it was impossible to bend over! Rooms were not very well insulated and you could clearly hear other peoples’ conversations. Breakfast was box standard, a slight decline from my last visit. Freshly prepared coffee was available when I last visited. This time it was available at a charge. Now, there is only one small coffee machine leading to queues on occasions. So, overall, a centrally located hotel at a reasonable price but with room for much improvement.

Hotel convenient to the center of Bologna, clean, quiet, and with an amazing breakfast. Friendly and always smiling staff. We will definitely be back

The hotel's location is unbeatable, halfway between the train station and the monumental center, on the main street, very close to both. The room was nice, practical, quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. The air conditioning works perfectly and they restock two bottles of water in the fridge daily. The breakfast is complete and the staff who attend to it are very attentive. The entire staff is friendly, resourceful, and makes an effort to assist you in Spanish. Wow, I would go back right now. It could perfectly be a four-star hotel.
