Negresco

I stayed at this property for 5 days in July 2026. The hotel, although a bit dated, is welcoming and elegant. The room was more than large enough and very clean: no dust under the bed or sand on the small balcony. The fridge, however, was empty and not very cold. Very clean bathroom, recently renovated. A special commendation to the lady who takes care of the third-floor cleaning for her cordiality and professionalism. The rest of the staff is also very kind and welcoming. The breakfast was very good, while the dinner was "nothing to write home about." Overall, an excellent hotel if it were a three-star. As a 4-star hotel, however, I must point out some flaws: the breakfast tables lack tablecloths, and guests must get their own trays, cutlery, and (paper) napkins as one does in a company cafeteria. At dinner, the table has paper napkins and tablecloths (!) and the number of utensils is insufficient, so for every course, you have to ask the staff for a fork and knife. The appetizer buffet is meager, as is the vegetable one (lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and carrots): since it is a 4-star hotel, one would expect a little bit more. The dessert selection is limited to three options: the chef's special, sorbet, and ice cream. Nothing to complain about regarding the dishes, however. During the day, it is not unusual to see buckets and mops left at the foot of the stairs in the hotel lobby. The pool is completely covered (you cannot tell from the photos on the website), and the water is cold and not heated. There is sand on the bottom of the pool, and the adjacent bathroom leaves something to be desired in terms of cleanliness. The space for lounge chairs is reduced to a strip right against the boundary wall and is almost entirely in the shade. Regarding the waiters, I really appreciated their friendliness and warmth. In summary: an excellent three-star hotel, but those who choose (and pay for) a four-star hotel expect four-star service.

For the third year, we chose the Hotel Negresco for our family vacation. Returning once again was a demonstration of the trust we had placed in the establishment in previous years, which is why expectations were naturally high. Below are the main aspects encountered during this stay. Positive points * We greatly appreciated the welcome upgrade to the Deluxe sea view room on the sixth floor with terrace, modern, bright, and comfortable. * The hotel's location continues to be one of its main strengths: very close to the beach, the promenade, and the main services. * The overall cleanliness of the room was good, accompanied by the courtesy and availability of the housekeeping staff. * Excellent Wi-Fi connection, which was stable even on the higher floors. * The air conditioning is quiet and effective, and the beds proved to be comfortable, allowing us to rest well. * A special thanks once again to Giuseppe from the bar service, always available and friendly. A round of applause also goes to Lea and Jonathan, always smiling and professional. Aspects to improve * The aspect that convinced us the least was the dining experience. After three stays, we found the culinary offerings to be very similar to those of previous years, with little variety in the menu and a sense of repetitiveness. * Even breakfast, at least in the first few days, appeared less abundant compared to the past, with some cakes and tarts being repeated multiple times. * Several dishes turned out to be quite flavorful. Considering the strong presence of families with small children, a more balanced cuisine would likely be appreciated by many guests. * In the room, we noticed some minor oversights, such as the lack of replenishment of bathroom products and, on some occasions, the presence of hair in the shower towels. * The overt friendliness and jokes about other guests in the restaurant corridor were somewhat unprofessional. * Finally, although the Deluxe room is very pleasant, the storage space between the wardrobes and drawers is rather limited for a family. Conclusion The Negresco remains a facility with numerous strengths, especially regarding location, comfort of the rooms, and the availability of the staff. Precisely because we have had the opportunity to know and appreciate it over the past few years, we are sorry to have perceived this year a level overall lower than our expectations, particularly regarding the dining experience and some service details. We thank all the staff for their commitment during our stay and wish the hotel to continue improving these aspects, which could truly make a difference in the guests' experience.

We stayed at the Hotel Negresco in Cattolica and we were really very well. The Family Room was large, spacious, and very comfortable, ideal for a family. The cleanliness was always thorough and the environments well cared for. A round of applause goes to all the staff, always kind, available, and attentive to our needs. In particular, we appreciated the dining staff: both the waitress and the head waiter were professional, friendly, and always present, contributing to making the stay even more pleasant. As for the dining, the small buffet was good, but on some occasions, it did not fully satisfy us. Being a 4-star hotel, we would have expected a slightly wider and more refined selection. On the contrary, the first and second courses were truly excellent, prepared with care and of a quality equal to that of a great restaurant. Desserts also deserve a special mention: always very good and well made. We also greatly appreciated the pool, a pleasant space to relax. The only suggestion we feel we should make concerns access to the pool area: in our opinion, safety should be improved, as the floor can be quite slippery and there is a risk of falling. This would be an important intervention, especially to ensure greater safety for children and adults. Overall, it was a very positive experience and we recommend the Hotel Negresco to anyone looking for a relaxing stay, with spacious rooms, attentive service, and excellent cuisine.
