Hotel Diplomatic

Simply perfect. We booked a room at the Diplomatic, but the receptionist accompanied us to the Hotel Universal 2 meters away, and I must say it was a pleasant surprise because it is a 4-star hotel. Spotless and super organized room with a view of the sea and the salt pans of Cervia. Spectacular and relaxing pool. Super and varied breakfast, everything delicious and well-cared for. Kindness and courtesy accompanied us.

Positive: Clean environment, very kind and helpful staff, superlative breakfasts. Negative: I did not like discovering upon arrival that the parking cost 15 euros per day. Our reservation, for two, was bed and breakfast only; having had dinner one evening at the connected hotel, consuming two first courses and a small bottle of water, paying 90 euros seemed like a rip-off to me...our fault for not asking beforehand, but there were no prices on the menu....

As usual, the Diplomatic is a more familiar place, managed by a kind lady who takes you to heart. At the Universal the situation is different, kind yes, but colder, welcoming too but always with a customer and manager type of attitude. The breakfast is among the best I know of. The waiters, even if young, are very professional and their youth makes them very kind, but what brings the breakfast to high levels is the lady who is no longer young who prepares the eggs on the spot. Having lived both experiences, I would give a suggestion: merge the kindness of the Diplomatic with the professionalism of the Universal.
