We booked 10 days in July at this hotel and were very excited about our first vacation as a family of 4 (2 adults, a 3-year-old child, and a 7-month-old). During the booking process, they told us we would have a room with a double bed, a crib, and a single bed with a bed rail. We also decided on full board and a beach umbrella a few steps away, plus private parking, for a total of €2650. Upon arrival, we were lucky to find a spot; otherwise, we would have had to leave the car in the 2nd/3rd row and the key at the reception without knowing who would move the car. They welcomed us by asking for our name and handing over the key…that’s it! We had to ask for the meal times, the name of the beach club, where the dining room was, etc. ourselves. The room was tiny with a double bed (2 singles pushed together) and a bunk bed! We pointed it out immediately and they found a solution: they pushed all the beds together so no one would fall, brought a crib full of dust, a phone under the bed, and nightstands stacked on top of each other with the addition of “so you have more space.” Filth everywhere in that place, our room full of dust, shower enclosure with mold, non-functioning showerhead, and a creaky bidet. The sheets were changed one day for the top one, one day for the bottom one, and the pillowcases the same. My husband had a stiff neck on the 2nd day due to the discomfort of those pillows. The food was prepared who knows how long before, extremely salty, frozen fish, french fries probably made in the morning because they were like cardboard, and pasta with tomato sauce using tomato straight from the can, uncooked, and you don't need an expert to figure that out. Pools UNCLASSIFIABLE, chlorine enough to make your eyes water, and endless algae. On the 5th day, we discovered that water during meals was not included in the full board, so another €3.90 for 750cl. We decided to leave 3 days early because we were outraged by the deception. Every time we raised an issue (politely and without offending anyone), they were always the ones who were offended, and the problem remained unresolved anyway! Why 4 stars? Why do people return? A guy had arrived with cleaning supplies (Napisan, sponges, etc.) because “the room was in the same condition last year too.” Why is this place still open?

We stayed for a week at the Caesar in Cesenatico and we must compliment Mr. Mauro Manuzzi, his family, and his staff for the management of the hotel. Their kindness, attention to the individual customer and their needs were truly commendable. The kitchen has a wide choice of menus for all tastes: meat, fish, vegetarian, and vegan, with first-rate dishes. The dining room and reception staff are very kind and very professional. The breakfast buffet is very rich for both sweet and savory options. I recommend trying this hotel for a stay in Valverde di Cesenatico.

I regret writing this review, but since vacations are sacred for everyone, I believe it is right to warn other users to avoid ruining their stay. Poorly maintained facility, low-quality food: pasta always overcooked and pre-cooked dishes that are always cold, everything soggy and tasteless, forgettable fried foods, for breakfast the available sandwiches are frozen and undercooked (I am sure because they are the same ones I occasionally use when I do not have fresh bread and return late from work), and it takes a long time to heat them with what is provided (a toaster that takes forever to heat even the poor-quality bread), let’s not even talk about the pastries that, just by looking at them, make you lose your appetite; some (not all) of the homemade cakes are decent. The buffet at the restaurant is truly embarrassing. Pools at the edge of decency with black grates, synthetic grass, dangerous steps for accessing the hot tub; there is a hot tub near the breakfast room, but unfortunately, I did not have my phone with me to document its condition. The staff is kind, and the owners are always present, which is why I regret my criticisms, but seeing the responses they give to negative reviews makes me wonder if their smiles are just polite smiles. Great location, internal parking, and the dessert station; everything else needs to be reviewed. The rooms are old and poorly maintained, the wardrobe has hangers of all sorts, and the fridge in the room leaves a horrible smell on everything you put inside, including sealed drinks. Narrow shower: to use the overhead shower, there is an uncomfortable and dangerous step, and my husband and son, being 1.80 meters tall, had to wash only with the hand shower because they did not fit on the step. Fortunately, we stayed only two nights, but the price we paid really seemed excessive to me. The hotel must have been a gem in the 1960s, but if you want to provide top-notch or at least sufficient services, investments and continuous improvements are necessary, which are evidently not being considered here. Unfortunately for them, with reviews like this, it is hard to run a business of this kind; I truly wonder how there can be positive reviews and especially how anyone can be accustomed to this; everything is relative, but there is really little to save here.
