Palazzo Viviani - Castello Di Montegridolfo

A truly wonderful restored castle is the location of this beautiful hotel. Surrounded by history this 14th century castle commands amazing views across to the sea in the east, a beautiful pool and two super restaurants. But for me the highlight was the breakfast buffet and its amazing host Christine. Christine personally bakes an amazing array of cakes, pastries and muffins, each one better that the next. Do not skip these but prepare to let your belt out a notch or two by the end of your stay. Highly recommended.

Enchanting village, elegant and evocative rooms. Amazing cuisine, to be tasted in the village, outside the hotel. Cozy and private reading corners. Historic decor.

Borgo degli Ulivi room 115, horrible maintenance: shower fell on my head as soon as we arrived. Entrance door handle broken and it constantly remained in my hand so I was locked in the room and had to struggle to get out. Reported everything but......only the shower was fixed. I find that a little more attention to small things is needed for you and for those who stay with you. One must not answer YOU ARE REALLY UNLUCKY WITH THE ROOM. Honestly, I was asked to change rooms, but I didn't know what to expect and we stayed where we were. We returned after many years, at the time we were staying at Palazzo Viviani, we wanted to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary, but unfortunately there was no room, we adapted.
