Absolutely the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had — and I’ve stayed in cheap one-star motels that were cleaner, bigger, and better managed than this place. Calling this a 3-star hotel is honestly laughable. We traveled with my husband and baby and paid for a “standard” room that was basically the size of a closet. We then paid extra to upgrade, thinking it would improve things, and somehow ended up in an even worse room: dirty, moldy, run-down, and full of ants. But the most ridiculous part? The owner personally decides whether guests are “allowed” to have air conditioning. Nearly 30°C outside, windows that barely open, a baby in the room — and apparently that still wasn’t “hot enough” for him to turn on the AC. €630 for 3 nights in those conditions is insulting. It got so bad that for the first time in our lives we checked out early from a hotel. Now they’re refusing to refund the nights we didn’t even stay. The only reason this review gets one star instead of zero is because the staff were kind and clearly trying their best despite the disaster they’re working in.

Location: Great for exploring Trieste; the hotel itself would be good. Garage: Too narrow; if it is full, getting out is a nightmare of maneuvers. It is absurd not to be able to book it in advance: you arrive hoping for luck, which is not fair considering it costs €16.00. Breakfast: Disappointing. A demerit for the coffee and cappuccino, which are from the automatic machine. Room and TV: Found a bit dirty (attached photo), and as if that were not enough, the television did not display well due to a weak signal. Restaurant: So-so. The meat was good, but the saffron gnocchi and mussels were a failure because the latter were not cleaned well.

It is already the second time in a couple of years that I try to book a room for 2 nights for 2 people, I ask that I need parking. Although the room is available, for parking (being willing to pay it immediately - 16 € - with the room) I will be notified of availability on arrival. Obviously I opted for another hotel considering the response of the staff of the hotel San Giusto disconcerting Alessandro Marzotti
