Hotel Baia Del Sole

If you're coming into the port of Civitavecchia (or leaving from there) then it makes sense to get a room here. It's only a 15 minute drive from the port, has parking, and although its own restaurant is a little basic, there are plenty of places nearby - not least of all the Pizzeria Fuori Dal Ghetto, just a 3 minute walk and a great pizzeria. I paid €68 for my ensuite room (this was in October, I suppose prices might vary depending on the season). My room was fine, good aircon, tv with a variety of channels I could only find Italian channels. Then again, this is Italy, so why might I expect otherwise? The room and bathroom were very clean, bathrooms are perhaps a little dated, but perfectly functional. Continental breakfast at 8 euros wasn't sumptuous, but perfectly acceptable at that price. Car parking included in the price, not an indoor or basement parking lot, but I was able to chain my bike to a post relatively securely. If you ride a motorcycle, you'll understand. I would definitely stay here again, if using the port. If you're looking for a luxury holiday experience, this probably isn't for you.

MOLTE GRAZIE for your wonderful hospitality, flexibility AND patience during our overnight stay at your incredibly affordable ($137.24 with taxes) Hotel!!! We were embarking at the Civitavecchia cruise port the next afternoon. Despite the negative experiences others may have had, WE were greeted warmly, assisted with kindness, and DID have a room with excellent HVAC. Additionally: * At only €8, the breakfast was deliciously fresh, diverse and plentiful. * Also at only €10 we very much appreciated the inexpensive AND quick shuttle booking from the Hotel directly to the ship. If we ever have to arrive at /depart from this port, and need a place to stay, you can best bet your Hotel will be where we comfortably lay our heads!

Terrible place...we stopped for one night in Civitavecchia only because the ship from Barcelona arrived very late. Civitavecchia only has the port, and for this reason, they allow themselves to have crazy prices. The cheapest thing we found was this property near the port, 150 euros a night, without breakfast for a room without a refrigerator, with a broken curtain, a broken window handle, floor, shower, and nightstand all dirty... a real dump!!!
