B&B La Casetta Ladispoli

We hired this property on VRBO as a villa with 7 bedrooms each with a/c. The villa was not fit for purpose. It is basically a B&B and was not equipped for a group of 12. We were shown around the property in a cursory way without time to work out the bedrooms. When the owner left we realised there were 6 bedrooms with a/c; instead of 7. A ‘staff’ room had to be used as a bedroom, without a/c, lock and with personal belongings in the drawers. Kitchen inadequate with grubby utensils, filthy dishcloths, not enough cutlery, no serving dishes, inadequate fridge freezer and no working extractor fan for the cooker. First evening ruined as we spent it on the phone trying to get adequate cutlery and crockery to have a meal - no representation from the owners in person other than young errand boys with limited communication. Difficult to keep complaining as the property was deeply flawed. Informed we had booked the entire villa and then found our privacy was compromised by the owners, disrespectful when challenged, showing others around during the week. Men, each staying a few nights, in a single occupancy unit adjoining the villa including large vans parked in the property. They seemed to know where their key was inside our villa, went in without explanation or permission to get it. The whole place is in need of updating, BBQ rusty, parasols dangerous, gazebos rusty & broken mirrors in a bedroom. I've have held off writing this review as a formal complaint is still ongoing but with little sign of completion. Photos not up to date and suspect VRBO of not reviewing property accordingly.

The place was booked as a 7 bedroom villa for 12 people. When we got there we were shown 6 bedrooms and a room off the main living room which by the way only had one sofa to seat about 5 people. This 7 th bedroom has no air conditioning and no lock and the drawers contained personal materials that clearly belonged to staff that stay there, cigarettes, lighter, toothbrush etc. Also under the bed there was a pair of trousers. In the kitchen there was only enough cutlery for about 8 people, a hot potch of dented and burnt pans and no serving dishes. The freezer hadn’t been defrosted since possibly the last year and the extractor fan above the cooker did not work making the kitchen unbearably hot when cooking. Workmen turned up on the second day and went into the 7th bedroom and rifled through the cupboards to get out some gazebo covers which they then stared to erect. Sat in the garden on another day and some else turned up to show some prospective holiday makers around the property and grounds. The bicycles which you could hire were clearly unsafe and hadn’t moved for at least a year and the bbq grill had to be replaced as again this was all very dirty and rusty

Before going there I invite you to think twice. My experience was bad. The structure at first seemed nice, with a nice garden, with tables and chairs outside to relax are great. But inside there was a crazy smell of moisture, and it was not comfortable. But the most disappointing thing was, that on the second day of our stay the light went out, in the afternoon, around 5pm and did not return until the next day, that is, until our departure. So we couldn't even take a shower, either the night before or the morning after. We did not use the paid breakfast, we could not even make our own coffee, because without electricity nothing worked. When I had asked for compensation even partial for a night of stay practically wild and without any service, to which the owner also replied badly, and the manager wrote me a long message discharge of responsibility, which I attach in the photos. In short, rude, unprofessional staff, with no respect for the customer and unaware, that we pay money for a service, that they are obliged to provide, or compensate if they are unable to do so. You do not conduct a receptive activity.
