A Casa Carra

Warning. This place is no longer in business all though it remains active on booking sites. We arrived at the location on the afternoon of october 14,2024 from Canada to have the security person at the door tell us that they shutdown six months ago. We tried calling the contact information and did not hear back. We weren’t charged anything just left standing on the street trying to figure out what to do. Fortunately a nice lady from the pizza restaurant who could speak both English and italian helped us find a place down the street. However the booking agency automatically charged us for late cancellation. Nice way to start your vacation.

Good location, but A/C was broken in 2 rooms. Also make sure you arrive when you say you’re checking in or no one will be there to help you. Not a staffed front desk. Marco was great and tried his best to help by meeting us early to check in and with the air conditioning, but it did not work. Marco was wonderful and it was clean.

However as the weather was poor, my second night experience in that Irish Bar was indeed an unforgettable experience which almost ruined my holiday, almost except for the man who helped me pick up the pieces and report this criminal act to the local Police and who is the face of Casa Carra, Marco. What a good guy this man is. He gave me his office at my disposal to use his office phone, mobile, computer to 'sort out' as best I and he could to resolve matters eg phoning my mobile operator back home in Ireland, (yes I'm Irish and was robbed in an Irish bar in Rome..some irony there!) phoned my bank(s), The Irish Embassy etc. Marco even accompanied me down to the very Irish pub I had my mobile phone stolen the previous night. I couldn't recommend Marco and Casa Carra more. If only there were more people like this gent compared to the thug who robbed me the world would be a better place.
