DO NOT BOOK HERE!
The evening before departure I received a message saying something completely different from the one confirmed up to two days before. I call to know something more and I am told that the hotel in via Principe Amedeo over the weekend would have had problems due to work in progress regarding the bathroom and then to go to Via Magenta, with the same Hotel. I was told it was in the same building as another facility, FALSE! That hotel here sucks, staff even worse than the rooms... I confirm and join all the negative reviews! If it were possible I would rate ZERO! Total gross, don't go and don't book here!

Arrived in Rome full of positivity following COVID-19 lockdown. We eagerly awaited our check in to hotel acropoli however, upon arriving to the hotel we discovered locked metal gates, a pile of mail and notices on the front doors. COMPLETELY SHUT. We waited outside the hotel doors as our hotel reservation had just been confirmed by Expedia a few days prior. We were then approached by the staff of the hotel next door (Hotel Giorgina), who informed us that several other guests had experienced the same situation over the last few days and that the hotel hasn’t picked up the phone for the past 2 months, despite still accepting payments. The situation then got worse as Expedia tried to argue that the hotel acropoli was still open (as is advertised online) however, we eventually got new hotel reservations paid for, which we are extremely pleased with now that we have read previous reviews about hotel acropoli - DO NOT BOOK HERE.

Well what can I say!! Location was superb. Upon entering the hotel the reception staff were ok, nothing special just done the basic stuff and gave keys. Then it went downhill. Unlocked the door to darkness and tripped down 2 steps as couldn't find light switch. Wish I had left light off!! The smell of the bathroom made me feel sick. Had no toilet seat and the handles were disgusting. The beds were just metal camp beds which creaked every time we moved. It was dirty and foisty. The bedding was clean but that's all I can say about the room that's positive. Didnt bother with breakfast as needed to get out as soon as possible to get fresh air. You could hear the people in the next room very clearly, they had a lot of wind!! Location great but wouldnt stay again as the hotel stinks. Didnt think there was much point complaining as seems all rooms were just as bad. Rome itself is wonderful.
