At first we were not very impressed, but got used to it. Then, when our flight was cancelled and we had to change 3 other hotels, we realised that this is actually a very good one (2,3 and 4 stars, none came even close to the comfort of Girasole). The rates we great, it's remarkably clean, very quiet and simply pleasant. You get free wi-fi (for real, not just 15min), tea station in room, clean linnen and a very comfortable bed. We will definitely return on our next trip to Rome!

Excellent place to stay when in Rome. Clean rooms, friendly staff, great location. Extremely good value; I stayed with a friend for five nights and we paid a little over 200 Euro each. Rooms were tidied daily with no intrusiveness. Bathroom was just about polished to a shine. Only issue with the room itself was the shower--it drained rather slowly, and after perhaps fifteen minutes you had to stop or face the water overflowing onto the bathroom floor. Can't speak for the showers in other rooms of the inn. There is a small kitchen near reception available for use with a stove, microwave and fridge. You can find a supermarket about twenty minutes walk southeast of the hotel if you're looking to make up snacks for the next day of exploration, or even want to cook a simple dinner. Earlier along the same road is an awesome gelato shop that also sells coffee. The manager was super friendly, always ready with a smile and a greeting. While not always on site, he was easy to get in contact with for any questions we had. His English was not the best, but we managed to communicate well enough. He spoke an Asian language (can't comment as to which) in addition to Italian, and I believe I heard him speak French as well. The Girasole Guest House was also superbly located; two minutes walk north got you to the central train station and twenty minutes south west to the Colosseum itself. If you like walking the city, most major monuments can be visited by foot, although if this becomes tiresome or is not an option you can get to a tourist focused bus pick up/drop off zone in two minutes just outside Termini Station. All in all, I'm extremely glad I stayed at the Girasole Guest House and I had a fantastic experience overall. If I'm in Rome again, this is where I'll be staying.
