B&B Navona First

I was with my sister in October and the second day we looked for other accommodation. The room was number 5, very sized for two beds. Nothing to see reality with the photos we saw when booking. It was very unkempt and very dilapidated furniture. A window could not be opened and the manager told us that it was closed and the "balcony" overlooked a wall with the air conditioners of the building. There was a lack of ventilation and natural light. Seeing the state of the shower we did not use it. It struck me that the sheet above the bed was a double sheet folded in half. The small fridge in the common area had inside a towel I think because it was full of ice the freezer. Two (open) milk briks put "at our disposal". The person in charge offered us a change of room for the second day, which we refused and helped us get our bags up and down. The location is what I can highlight. The category, from experience, as a hostel or a boarding house.

Location is great! Flavio was great.. no lift and many stairs but flavio helped carrying my luggage up! Small Clean rooms with AC. Close to attractions.. lots of restaurants around. Just remember if you have a knee problem there are many stairs.

My sister and I chose this residence because it was inexpensive and the location was amazing. It’s steps away from Campo de’ Fiore, bars and restaurants. Although a bit of a hike, we walked everywhere from the Vatican to the Colosseum. Trastevere was only a few minutes walk and we had dinner there several nights during our stay. I’d agree with all of the other reviews about the excellent location. The room is in a residence, not a hotel. If you are looking for a 24/7 hotel feel this is not the place for you. The room was on the second floor (no lift), but Flavio, the caretaker kindly carried our bags up upon arrival. Our room was small with an adequate private toilet and shower. It had a lovely window that opened out onto the street. The room was cleaned very well each day and all of our questions were answered by Flavio. He ordered us a taxi and helped with orienting us. The small main area had a small refrigerator (we never used it), an espresso machine and a microwave. All and all I’d recommend staying here if you are looking for a clean, wonderfully situated simple, no frills, safe accommodation.
