First off, I will state the obvious positive of Coronari Courtyard, and that is the fantastic location. It is in a perfect spot only minutes walking from Piazza Navona, The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and right across the river from the Vatican. It is also surrounded by tons of restaurants and shopping. No complaints in this department.
The check in process was painless, and Patrizio was super nice. This was, however, the only time we ever saw anyone that worked there over the few days we were there.
Our room was directly across the hall from the reception area, and unlike the description from other room reviews, was really small. One of the smallest we have had on our trips to Europe. It was, however, fairly charming, and the bed was firm as we like it, so that was not too bad.
The bathroom, on the other hand, although not bad to look at, was so small, it was laughable they actually fit a toilet, bidet sink and shower all in the same tiny space. Good luck to anyone trying to use the bidet. The control for the temperature in the shower was extremely difficult to turn, so until I spoke to someone the second day about having to really force it to turn, we all but got scalded. The door also did not close properly, so there was no way not to get some water on the floor.
The room is in the back of the building, and faces out into a pretty cool courtyard, which is really dark during the day, so you have no idea what the weather is like, and has incredibly obnoxious lighting at night that is on an automatic time that does not go off until sometime well after midnight. The courtyard is intended for guests to enjoy on its two levels, but the door to get to it was locked so there was no way to access it. Apparently there was a problem at the time with the door, but we realized it was actually a blessing in disguise, since it saved us form anyone hanging out, literally directly outside our window. And make no mistake. If anything happens outside, the sound carries very well inside the courtyard.
This brings me to the final icing on the cake. Just after 6:00am every morning, we were awakened by workers directly above us starting there day renovating another space in the building. Being a typical old building made of stone, tile, etc. You can hear absolutely everything!!! And there was certainly no attempt by the workers to be quiet in any way. Their noise was typically preceded by a loud truck arriving as well.
Again, we cannot speak to other rooms, just the one we had. Perhaps another would have been a totally different experience and impression. Based on this visit though, I would not rush to stay here again.

We loved our stay at Coronari Courtyard! Great location, easy to find, and our room was huge and comfortable. Be sure to email them and let them know when you will be arriving, there isn’t a reception desk so this is the easiest way to check in and make sure they will be there. Would definitely stay here again.
