Positive first: the apartment (not a hotel) is located in the authentic Monti district. Walking distance to the Termini train station, the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums. The Metro Station "Cavour" is only a couple of minutes by foot. The apartment has two bedrooms and actually plenty of space. It is however a pretty dark and plain affaire. Beds are not very comfortable. Especially the double bed. So, if you are a little older, or have back problems, than sleeping might be challenging. It is located in an old building, so you can hear your neighbors from all sides. And you "feel" the metro passing by below in the underground. Nice vibrations...

A friend had recommended this hotel to us and we were still pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a lively part of town with great restaurants and shops. We were able to walk to all of the major sites except the Vatican, but the metro stop is only a block away. The manager/hostess of the hotel was very friendly and helpful, and we were greeted warmly by her and her little dog Julius, who greeted us as though we were there to see him. We stayed for 4 nights and had an absolutely wonderful time in Rome and at this hotel. There are locals who live in the building as well, so there was a feeling of the "real" Rome while having all of the amenities one expects in a hotel. We would absolutely recommend this hotel and would stay there again if we ever return to Rome.

This is really a charming place combining a historic setting with all modern amenities right in the heart of Rome. Ideal to explore the city centre, set in a lively neighbourhood with attractive shopping and bars. Super-friendly staff, clean, welcoming and very decent breakfast. Would come back any time.
