Domus Augusta

Convenient location for meals and shopping near Termini Station. They also offered free early check-in, and the automatic heating was comfortable even when it was cold outside. It was a European room, clean, very quiet and very relaxing. However, I was unhappy that breakfast was not included for the price, but it may be the same for other intermediate hotels at present.

Quiet room, every day cleaning, really nice owners and staff. It is a quite small hotel,but it has a great location, near Termini railway station( the second largest in Europe), so very easy to get anywhere in Rome. I should also mention that the first stop, the departure one, for Big Bus London city tour is also there. Good price-quality balance.

If I am staying for a short period, I'd prefer this area to stay because it is easy to move around with all the buses and metros. I was arriving late so i wanted something as close as possible (my usual one is 6-7 blocks) read a lot of reviews and decided to try this. It is 2 blocks from the termini side entrance. I went on a weekend so I didnt see the open market on the street that other travelers reported. Very nice attention, speak english, spanish, italian, the rooms are in the 1st floor. Be aware that the lift is for you and a suitcase, so if you have more, I guess they will have to help you sending it. The room was very comfortable, the AC works (which i read it doesnt in other hotels in the area, and I experience that when I tried a different place on my way back... big mistake not to go back to Domus Augusta). Breakfast is basic, but that is the same in most italian places all over italy (unless well known brands or big hotels). I will recommend it.
