Gioia Bed & Breakfast

Do NOT stay Gioia B and B!. We booked through BOOKING.com. We reserved 5 nights, but checked out early the next morning. I called and texted manager with no reply. No one on site except young lady serving breakfast. A/C dripped on our bed all night. A/C never got cool during afternoon. Elevator was not accessible, and we were told it did NOT work>. However, we saw guest using elevator. We are in our 70’s. I have bone on bone in hip joint and joint replacement schedule. Management tested later saying they were not going to refund any portion of our already fully paid amount. I contacted BOOKING.com. When management confirmed they were not going todo anything. I was refused any of the requested 523.00 EUR refund. This represented the 4 nights not used. We were charged 654.50 EUR. ($705.00 US) I contacted my credit card company and they also refused with only the word of hotel management that our claims were not valid!!! This was a trip of lifetime. We had saved for over a decade. This amount of money represents a percentage of our money SS check. We had to find another location and pay for these unused rooms and the rooms we booked. I spent many nights every year in work related travel. This is the worst experience I have ever encountered. Management was very direct and matter of fact! If I didnot like it, I could check out and no money nor concessions of any kind would be arranged! If I could give something less than a one star I would certainly do so. Do NOT stay at this location.

We stayed here for 4 nights, the room was a good size for 3 of us (1 child). 5 minute walk to Manzoni metro stn and about 20 minutes to the Colosseum. Staff were really helpful - we especially appreciated the restaurant recommendation (see elsewhere!)a dn helped organise a taxi to the airport at the end of our stay.

A nice little hotel very friendly feels like home away from home. The rooms are very big and very clean. The dining room in the garden is cozy and breakfast is nice ( I wish they had some vegetables as well). Only the internet is a great disappointment for it comes and go like a wind
