Gregorius Close To St. Peter's

PROS Clean, nice and essential -private bathroom. Super cheap price. Position is also great, wifi available and air conditioning included. Really really recommended. CONS Of course it is really essential but it is really convenient for 45€ in high season peak (and weekend too) Recommended place in Rome. Suggested for solo night or sleep and go.

The Room - very cosy, clean, renovated with taste, comfortable bed, a balcony with table and two chairs (ideal for smokers), with a nice view to a green park and the street. The street is noisy, but the windows were good and we had no problem sleeping. We had enough space not only for our stuff but also to move around (bed didn't take the whole room). Small electric kettle, tea, sugar and cups were provided. WiFi was strong. Room was cleaned every day. Building & Neighbourhood - The B&B is located in a normal building on a busy street, with portier, easy to find, minimarket 4min away. Busses stop in front of the building, the Vatican is a few stops away. Subway is either 3 bus stops or a 15min walk away. The neighbourhood is otherwise quiet, beautiful buildings with balconies with flowers, take away pizza etc. Gregorius is in a PARKING FREE zone, so we could see our car from the room. BUT when we checked out on the third morning we noticed that the car parked behind us had scrached ours a little bit. Since it was a rented one, we are still waiting for our verdict from Europcar. Maurizio (the host) - Maurizio was very hospitable and friendly, always available, he also gave us tips on how to get to the centre etc. He speaks English, although I preferred practicing my Italian. We had booked the room for 2 nights, but then decided to stay another night.

On arrival on 30-Sep-15, this place was not in operation anymore. Hotels.com put us into a different hotel, indicating this would be (rightly so) free of any additional costs. However a charge has been made on my credit card for USD 200. Complained to hotels.com, they said they would refund me, but after 2 months and 2 follow-up calls still haven't received my money back. Terrible experience with hotels.com Do not use hotels.com because they have terrible customer service and are a rip-off!
