It is a beautiful hotel. Fantastic location near Euroma2. I recommend it!

We want to start with the positive: the staff absolutely deserve praise. Both the reception staff and the cleaning staff were very friendly and visibly did their best to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. Their commitment and hospitality are the strongest point of this hotel. Unfortunately, we cannot say much positive about our room itself. The room does not match the images shown on the hotel website and on Booking.com. The photos appear to be highly edited and give a much more modern impression than reality. The hotel is clearly outdated and has received some refreshments here and there, but there is absolutely no modern hotel. The air conditioning in our room did not work sufficiently, so the room barely got cooled. In addition, there were several defects: the terrace door could not be closed properly, leaving a constant gap, and the window could not be locked either. This did not give a safe or comfortable feeling. Our room overlooked the waste disposal area of the adjacent shopping centre. Unfortunately, activity began there every night and night: waste collection, processing and deliveries continued well into the night. As a result, there was no moment of real peace and we were not able to sleep well during our stay. The soundproofing of the room was also very poor: conversations from neighbours and television noise were clearly audible. In addition, we suffered from ants in the room. The decor and look of the hotel feel very dated; you get the feeling of stepping back into the 70s rather than staying in a contemporary hotel. Some facilities were also disappointing. A swimming cap is mandatory for the pool, but this is not clearly communicated in advance. As a result, you have to buy a swimming cap on site if you want to use the pool. Breakfast was also a disappointment. The offer did not match the expectations created by the photos: it was rather limited, monotonous and the organization was chaotic, with regularly long queues. Especially the coffee was a big setback. In a country known for its coffee culture, coffee from disposable cups is absolutely no added value. The possibility to order a fresh coffee was there, but unfortunately the quality was also little. Our impression is that this hotel is mainly aimed at hosting large groups of tourists visiting Rome, rather than at guests seeking tranquility, comfort and a pleasant hotel experience. We would like to stress that we do not want to lump the entire hotel and all employees together. The staff deserve a lot of appreciation, but our room and the overall experience unfortunately did not live up to expectations. For four nights we paid €451. For that amount we have experienced modern hotels with much better rooms and excellent breakfasts in the past. Based on our experience, we therefore do not think this value for money is correct. Rating: 1 star for the kindness of the staff, but the room and the stay itself unfortunately did not meet expectations.
