Hotel Meraviglia

I have been in Rome many times but this place has been by far the best. Very comfortable, easy to find, great location close to main attractions. We will not doubt about staying here next time. Thanks again :)

I have been to Rome a number of times, but I can say that my stay at the Hotel Meraviglia was by far the most pleasant. As soon as I entered the room, I felt excited to stay in this place. Not only was the room very comfortable, but it was pleasing to the eye (and of course, very clean). Our hosts were so sweet and friendly. My train came in at 1 Am, and Riccardo--our lovely host--waited for us until we made our way to the hotel. The next day, the front desk gave us equipment to make coffee and tea which they provided, and also gave us numerous helpful trips to see the city. In addition to these perks, the hotel is conveniently located 10 minutes from the Termini station, and right next to a metro stop that will bring you to all the sights in Rome. I really haven't been in a place with customer service that was as good as this. I felt safe, and I could ask the hosts questions and tips to make my stay a memorable one. I've already recommended this hotel to my parents, who are planning a trip to Rome soon. I would definitely book this place again!

My sister and I had booked for a room with Meraviglia for last October in 2016, however due to an airport strike in Greece, we were left stranded and couldn't fly out to Rome on the date of our reservation as intended. We informed Hotel Meraviglia several days before our arrival and they kindly offered us a credit to avail our stay until October 2017. We were very thankful for this and found this such a great gesture. However, upon trying to make a reservation; several emails with no response and a few international calls trying to reach the reception, I was informed to give them a text on WhatsApp as this was an easier form of communication. I had forwarded our previous conversation regarding the credit stay to them and asked if we were able to avail our stay for September 25 to 28. They had replied and said that as our chosen dates were at a higher price than our original booking, we would have to pay the difference which was 42 hours. This seemed like a very decent priced, so we agreed to pay the difference and replied back to confirm these dates. With our booking confirmed, we immediately booked our flights to Rome and we're anticipating our upcoming trip. However, a few days before our reservation, I had asked on WhatsApp to Meraviglia what time is reception open from and they had informed that my sister and I didn't even have a booking with them! We were absolutely shocked with their response and instead of trying to find a way to accomodate us, the gentleman accused us that we didn't confirm to pay city tax fee, which is why he didn't make a booking for us (seriously we know from our booking confirmation through booking.com we have to pay city tax pretty much in every italian city). Also if they were trying to get us to confirm to the city tax, they need to work on the way they word their sentences/messages! Ridiculous! One more thing, yes the gentleman we dealt with (seemed like the owner) replied after and mentioned he could accomodate us for 1 night only, when we accepted his offer he mentioned if we would send an email instead of communicating on WhatsApp to confirm the booking once again. We did just so... and you can guess, no response. We tried to communicate on whatsapp to ask if he got the email...no reply. Absolute joke in regards to the way they comminicate and provide service to their customers. In the end, glad to have not stayed here as we went past this area on our visit to Rome (at a different accomodation), lots of homeless people around and felt very unsafe and unclean.
