Hotel Mosaic

I stayed at the Hostel Mosaic this past June 15th with a friend. We had a reservation until the 22nd, but we were forced to leave a night early due to a bedbug infestation. During the last two nights we both started getting bitten. Upon checking the Google reviews, we verified that another user had already reported this same problem months ago. When we went to complain to the staff, their attitude was disappointing: they tried to deny it, claiming that they had already fumigated six months ago, and they gave us absolutely no solution. To top it off, they refused to refund us the amount for the last night we did not sleep there, including the corresponding tourist taxes. The staff, who at first seemed friendly, showed a total lack of professionalism and empathy. Beyond the bedbugs, the general cleanliness of the hostel leaves a lot to be desired. In shared accommodation, hygiene should be extreme, but here the sheets, the floor, and the bathrooms were noticeably neglected. The common areas, especially the dining space, were always dirty and the shared refrigerator is tiny and neglected. I do not recommend this place under any circumstances. It has been a frustrating, unsanitary experience and a total waste of money.

What was supposed to be my dream vacation in 2026 turned into a nightmare after staying at the Mosaic Hotel, where I found bedbugs welcoming me. By the way, the front door says "HOTEL'—it's not a s….hole hostel. If you don't know about these insects, they'll send you free information (as they did to me), but they take zero responsibility for what you'll go through. If you're allergic, I honestly don't recommend it. And the best part? The only thing they'll offer you is another room, where the bedbugs come from other guests. According to them, 'These insects come with people, like hair bugs that anyone can meet at schools.’ Are you kidding me? Spent my last week on medication, which wasn't enjoyable. The wifi is the worst in Rome.

I stayed here with my two teenage daughters in February. We had a private room with en suite. It was beautifully clean, very comfortable. Very friendly staff. So many extras that I hadn’t anticipated for the price: towels, soap, free proper coffee machine. I highly recommend this hostel.
