Hotel Sandra

Efficient checkin and helpful to set up a second day bed for us as we are 2 friends travelling together. Quiet as we had a room in the back. Bathroom door latch did not lock very well. Shower water at end of day was cold water only. We did shower earlier one day and had warm water. Friendly staff. Well situated in the city.

If 0 star can be given, I will give Albergo Sandra 0 star. I don't need to exaggerate how terrible it is, because IT IS THE WORST HOTEL we have ever experienced through many years traveling around the world. Our family, 2 adults and 2 young kids, booked this hotel through Expedia for the last night for our vacation in Italy. We traveled back from Florence to Rome. When we arrived this hotel, it was at around 8:30 in the evening. We found we couldn't enter the building. The owner didn't want to open the door for us, and just replied us through the speaker on the main entrance "I don't have room for you". We were shocked and didn't know what is going on. Until someone else living in that building happened to come back and opened the door for us. We waited at the lobby for a long while to wait for the owner to appear. When he finally came, he coldly told us he has no room for us and has cancelled our reservation 2 days ago. You can imagine how shocked we were! The guy claimed he had informed to Expedia and called us. What he said is full of lies. First, we never got any call from him. Secondly, we contacted Expedia immediately. Expedia argent said from their side they didn't see any cancellation request from the owner too. The only reason he kicked us out was because he had given the rooms to a big group of people 2 days ago. We only booked one room for one night, so the greedy owner certainly wanted to kicked us out first to receive the bigger group! The owner is a totally liar. He is greedy, cold and rude. After all of these, he didn't have any guilty feeling, just wanted us leave his hotel at night with 2 young kids. We had to call Expedia and let them help to find another hotel. It was a holiday in Italy, so it is not easy to quickly find another vacant place in a short walking distance at night. Until we finally arrived another hotel, it has been almost midnight. That liar wasted a lot of our time and ruined our good mood in vacation! I regretted that I didn't do any research before I booked it, because it is only one night staying, I didn't think too much. If I had read other reviews, i should know what we experienced had happened to other customers before! So, stay away from this hotel, because you don't know if you will be thrown out by the owner at night or not!

This is exactly what you are paying for. Rooms are clean and quite big. Staf is very helpful and kind - they let us to get the reserved room couple hours before actual check-in time. Highly recommended! The only disadventage I can think of is that breakfast is reaaaally small, so you should be prepared for that.
