Il Viandante Romano

We had arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport. He was late and Sylvia was helpful in making the connection. We arrived at the B&B and had a nice introduction. Location was great, near the train station, grocery store and gelato! Breakfast offered was a croissant and something to drink. Our third day, we had a Vatican tour at 10:00, with breakfast scheduled at 8:30. Breakfast had not been delivered and we had to leave by 8:48 and our breakfast had not arrived, which meant we were rushed and had to purchase something to eat en route. That didn't start our day off very well. Also, the air conditioner did not work. It was our first time in Italy and we didn't know if they just kept things warmer or if there was a problem. It became very clear that there was a problem when it became very hot in Rome and we were having difficulty sleeping. We spoke with the owner, but it was late Saturday and there wasn't much he could do at that hour, and we were leaving the next day. Overall, a mixed stay.

We stayed for 3 nights, location is a bit out of the city centre but the metro is very easy to use. The room was small but very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large with a lovely double head shower and again very clean. The owner was friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.

The location is a little further out but only 3 stops on the metro, The actual B&B is hard to find as it is in an apartment building and does not have any signs out front Rooms are nice, clean & spacious with a small balcony shared with other rooms. Every time you flush the toilet or run taps the pump in the bathroom turns on, a little loud but no big deal. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, very basic, coffee, juice, cereal, toast.. I stayed another night in a hotel downtown rome for an extra $40 a night and it was worth every penny
