Moses Fountain

Greeted by Ahmed on the first day. A friendly chap who is keen to help. Shown the room which is behind the fountain up a few flights of stairs. Clean quiet room with the necessities. There are no frills here e.g no lobby or receptionist but Ahmed is around when you need him and is helpful. A nice location for travelling to the main sites. Whilst being in Rome we managed to get around and see everything on foot from here.

We chose this hotel for the great note that has on Trip Advisor but now I have 1 question with 2 answers, who gave this note? First answer: the owner and his friends. Second answer: the people who until now always stayed in tents or even in woods. Why I am saying this? 1. The room needed an renovation: the furniture was used, filthy. 2. The mattress was very bad, I could feel every spring. 3. The pillows smelled very bad, like a wet dog. 4. After the shower the whole bathroom was sinking, the water came under the hot tub. 5. And the cherry on the pie: the noise! Right in front of our room were many air conditionings and they NEVER stoped! Imagine trying to sleep like this. I walked every day 20 km and I saw a lot of places really nice and authentic, so chose carefully because you have a lot of options. Every “terrible” review is 100% true! We said to the receptionist the problem with the bathroom and he seems very surprised even though I read the reviews at “terrible” section, they did nothing, for about a year!

My first time in Rome. The only reason why I new where the door is was due to checking the street on google map satellite before arrival. Taxi driver also indicated where it is but still was not sure. Felt a bit uncomfortable - friendly check in man but other than that - no life around. Yes, there is stairs as with all places in Rome. He helped us carry the suitcases up to our room (my daughter was with me). Comfortable, clean room. You have to figure the taps out otherwise you are going to have a cold shower. All in all an average experience but due to location I would consider ti again.
