Old Town Apartments

These apartments were a bit tricky to find, but once we had found the underground car park round the corner (€20 a day, far better than parking in the streets!) we were warmly welcomed, shown the room, seen the kitchen, we ventured out! The Vatican City is a short 5 minute walk away, a 10 minutes walk takes you to the main city tourist bus routes, and maybe 30 minutes walk to any of the major sights! The apartments are very clean and tidy, comfortable bed, small kitchen & tea/ coffee making available at all times, lots of cafes & restaurants, shops & icecream etc very close by, we had a wonderful time, recommended!

We booked the hotel online. The map and hotel description claimed the apartment to be in the Repubblica area. Close to the commercial district and several major sights as well as close to the metro station red line. These things were important to us as we were travelling with a two year old. The description said nothing about the apartments being spread all over the outskirts of town and we'd have to wait until arrival to see what we would get. Upon arrival the lady at the office informed me that they didn't have any apartments in that area and our apartment were 15 minute walking east of the trainstation. That means an hour to walk with our toddler to get to the commercial district or changing metro a couple of times. NOT acceptable. NOT what we booked. She was not helpful, refusing to make the neccessary calls to sort it out. Clinging to the fact that on the final receipt it did indeed say on room type 3 pax termini (termini is the name of the trainstation in italian). We were not sent another address after booking, we felt ripped off and wanted a refund so that we could check in to a proper hotel. We did not want to stay with people who was this cunning. They refused to refund us. Luckily when I contacted Skoosh they decided after a while to refund us and chase the other agency for the money themselves. Thank you Skoosh. BUT I checked this morning and the false information is still on the website.

Don't be fooled by the pictures, this apartment was dirty, stains on bed sheets, under the sofas etc. Staff were rude and unhelpful when we arrived. From this, we made sure we spent as little of time in the apartment as possible! On the up side, Rome is beautiful, amazing city!
