Sadly, this is a Booking.com mistake - as when I was looking online to book directly with my preferred hotel, booking.com advertised this as San Marco Realis and a reduced rate that was tempting - but the "can cancel anytime banner" was NOT I. The email confirmation. Instead their confirmation indicated it was booked and paid immediately and ANY CHANGES would be forfeit of payment. I really had to lock in higher airfare as a result as well.
Upon arrival, even though my flight info was provided with reservation, I had to wait several hours in the San Marco lobby for my room to be cleaned. After a long flight in and no sleep - this plus being to,d that the City Tax credit I was told I would get for previous trip was not honored. The concierge assisted me to take me to my room, which I did NOT understand was going to be on a different street from this hotel.
So San Marco Realis is like private room, away from the main hotel ad does NOT have front desk person in lobby. You have to go back to actual San Marco hotel for assistance, breakfast, etc. San Marco hotel issues a new password EACH DAY, FOR EAVH DEVICE btw - but at San Marco Realis, it is same password, no limit (at least not up to 3 devices as I have).
The rom is adequate, but on a solo trip - I def would have preferred my first choice hotel (VillaFranca). Could not get air to turn on. Bathroom light over mirror did not operate. A handle in the bathroom shower was broken. The mini-fridge did not cool. And, I could not get tv to operate (even following their directions) but I did not come to Rome to watch tv.
Overall, would not stay here again. Have many other hotels that are actual hotels to stay if my first pick is booked. Otherwise, might as well look at renting a spot and at least have a kitchen to provide for what is missed from not being in the hotel.
