Rental in Rome 2000

We stayed here for four nights. The place wasn’t easy to find as it’s only mentioned on the buzzer. To make things slightly trickier the hotel isn’t manned at all times, but you can call for assistance, which we had to do. It probably took us 30-minutes to actually get inside the hotel. The hotel itself is very small, but clean and tidy. No real objections to the room. They did a very good job cleaning each day. The location is good - 15-minute walk to the Colosseum and a metro stop around the corner.

Avoid this conman like the plague! He knew our flight landed at 20.15 but for some reason (to con us out of more money) he said he had been there waiting since 7pm. Then took us to our room... but actually didnt. Not even the same address id booked.... Id booked a room for 2 adults and a child, the room had a four poster bed and a pull out bed. The room we were taken to was not this. I kept asking him why we didnt have the room we booked...he said the room was for publicity only. After a few strong words he walked us to the room we had booked, to leave us alone outside a door for 20 minutes with homeless beggars all around us... prob half 10 at night. We eventually get in the room...it was clean... but only had the double bed, where was my son meant to sleep?? No wifi, no kitchen.... and no reasoning! I told him we would find somewhere else as i felt id been lied to, didnt feel my family was safe and that he was dishonest. So we never stayed but had to pay £70 for cancelling. Our 1st impressions and experiences of Rome were hideous.....thanks to him. Thankfully the Orange hotel at vatican saved out stay! If you like the look of rome2000.... think again!!

This is the first time I have to call someone at a property to ask him to go to open the door for people who have been waiting for an hour in the street as he was in lunch break and no one was available to open the door. The person at the reception is very irresponsible and with poor English. I tried to make myself a cup of tea using the hotel's cattle but I was horrified with how dirty it was! Nevertheless, I have to say that the room itself was good in terms of space and cleanness. The location was also very good, 10 min walk from Termini train station and similar walk to 2 different subway station. Also a walking distance from the Colosseum.
