Unfortunately, our stay at Salotto Monti was disappointing. Although the desk staff were pleasant, the reservation process was stressful: after numerous emails and WhatsApp messages, our room was threatened twice and eventually canceled just two days before arrival, forcing us to rebook at a higher price. The room we received was extremely small and uncomfortably hot when we arrived late We paid extra to upgrade, but the Superior room was still very small and did not appear consistent with the dimensions listed on the hotel’s website. The tiny bathroom was also poorly designed; water from the open shower regularly left the floor wet and slippery. The external entrance was difficult to find, and the reception area felt more like a small office than a hotel. Breakfast was also underwhelming compared with other hotels we visited in Italy. Overall, we stayed in 4 hotels while in Italy - this is the only hotel I would not recommend. We understand that rooms in historic central Rome buildings can be small, but given the cancellation, harassing emails, higher rebooking cost, upgrade charge, room size, heat, bathroom design, noise and overall experience, we expected considerably more.

The staff was friendly and helpful, the location was fantastic to get to a lot of the prime sites of Ancient Rome. The breakfast was good, but the dining area was cramped and the outdoor terrace had bees in the mornings.

Location was great - walking distance to most sites. Apartment was clean, comfortable and breakfast was wonderful!
