Tamara's Suites

Stayed here for a couple of nights just after Christmas - we were just looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful to use as a base to explore Rome for a couple of days. For this, the hotel was fine. Quick transfer from the airport. The B&B wasn’t the easiest to find - I knew from reading reviews that it was in a residential building so that helped when we were looking for it. Check in wasn’t the easiest, as the receptionist spoke very little English and we spoke barely any Italian and there was a bit of confusion over taxes. However, a quick phone call to the owner (who was very apologetic for the confusion) and everything was sorted. Not the quietest room I’ve ever had - no fault of the B&B. Being around Christmas time, some people in the apartments on the floor below were having a party one night, which got quite loud, but as I mentioned, this was no fault of the B&B. Trastevere is also quite a noisy area at night with all the restaurants and bars. The room itself was spacious, but fairly basic - a double bed, wardrobe, table and chairs and a small bathroom with a shower. Breakfast was simple - a croissant and jam, yogurt, some crackers and butter and coffee. This was fine for us, but there are plenty of coffee shops nearby if you want something more. We took a short taxi ride into the centre of Rome each day, so didn’t spend much time at the hotel. There were plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance of the hotel for us to go to in the evenings. Trastevere is a great location for night life and socialising and is very cheap in comparison to the centre of Rome - in one restaurant, we had 2 pizzas, a glass of Prosecco and a beer for about €15!! If you’re looking for a cheap base to use whilst exploring Rome, I would definitely recommend this hotel. If you’re looking to relax and spend more time in the room, I’d recommend paying more and staying elsewhere.

Room was large and clean (not all of them were that large), the location couldn’t be better (just 1) minutes to Compo de’ Fiori, for example, and people like Marcella were very nice, friendly and efficient. Loved it.

We stayed in Tamaras suites in Sept 2018. We had a lovely big room which was clean and airy. Large window shutters looking out on the square were great. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast delivered to our room every morning was a nice touch. I have to mention the lady that cleaned our room as she was so nice and really tried to help us book a taxi on our morning of departure ( the pre booked cab to take us to the airport never arrived leaving us stranded). We would defiently come back to Trastervere as it was such a lovely place as was Tamaras suites.
