I booked this apartment three months in advance then arrived to find my reservation had been cancelled less than twelve hours earlier while I was in transit from Australia. The person on the desk had no idea why it had been cancelled.

I'm so confused by these positive reviews! My experience at the Trastevere Terrace Suites was incredibly uncomfortable! We were a group of 4 and stayed 3 nights (Baylon and Trevi rooms). The location was great, and thats where the "good" stops. The bed was lumpy, squeaky, & uncomfortable. The bedroom door barely closed, the bathroom door did not close at all, and the bathroom amenities consisted of one tiny bottle of shampoo. The "breakfast" was at a neighboring cafe that was overcrowded and inconsistent with quality and service. But the WORST part of the stay was the noise! The room had marble floors and no insulation, so everything that went on in the neighboring rooms could be heard ~ bathrooms noises, doors opening and closing, sneezes, coughs and snoring...yep we heard it ALL! It was a terrible sleep ~ a nightmare! After the first night we were trying to book another B&B for the remainder of our stay (to no avail). I would never in good conscience recommend or stay at this place again!

As others have said, the apartment is nice - we had a room with a sofa and balcony overlooking the street which was very pleasant, and the location in Trastevere is perfect. We did however have a mix-up whereby the owner claimed not to have a record of our booking. The room had been booked through LateRooms who claimed they had emailed, phoned and faxed to confirm the booking. They did email me twice to confirm the booking (once when I booked, and once a couple of days before). They also phoned up the apartments whilst I was on hold speaking to their call centre, and claimed they had confirmed at the time of booking. I was able to show the owner my booking confirmation, however he still claimed that LateRooms had not contacted him. I spoke to LateRooms and they claimed they had definitely sent multiple confirmations, and spoken to the owner on the phone. Not sure what caused the mix-up and which party was covering up a cock-up. The end result was that we had to split our stay between the Baldassini apartments and this one, which wasn't great as these apartments are nicer (check the comments from the owner on Baldassini reviews), and also in a nicer area. 160 euros a night for a serviced apartment, midweek in late October seemed steep, but I guess Rome is a popular place.
