Grand Mediterranee

The hotel's location is simply unbeatable: easily accessible and perfectly positioned in Alassio. The hotel's own private beach with its paid sun loungers and umbrellas is dreamily beautiful and spotlessly clean – the prices are absolutely in line with Italian standards, transparent, and fair. For those who find that too expensive: there is also a free beach within walking distance, which we have never used, however. Our room was, as always, spotlessly clean and functionally furnished. The cleaning service really leaves nothing to be desired. Yes, the rooms are no longer the newest, but that is exactly their charm: They are dignified, timelessly elegant, and have far more character than many sterile new-build hotels. The breakfast is rich and good and has everything you need for a perfect start to the day. The absolute highlight is and remains for us the beach restaurant: Superb location, first-class food, and also service that is sensational. The head maître d' and the entire team are on the ball, warm, and attentive – you really feel like a king. Great improvement over last year: the evening bar service was reorganized and is now also first-class! A huge compliment to the bar team! What else is new? Due to the integration into a hotel group, there are many small improvements: new soaps, fresh towels. The owner family is still the same lovable, warm family as always. Only the valet service disappointed us a bit this time: At €28 per day, our car was apparently parked at the construction site next to the hotel because of the construction work and came back covered from top to bottom in construction sand and cobwebs. That is not acceptable for this fee. Conclusion: A good, clean hotel in a dream location with a phenomenal beach restaurant and a team that has its heart in the right place. Despite minor drawbacks with the valet service, we will gladly come back – and are already looking forward to it!

The change in management has completely ruined a splendid property; it's a shame, I was a loyal customer but I will not return.

I found the hotel staff very kind and helpful; the hotel also offers a valet parking service with friendly and careful attendants 👍 The property is a bit dated but well-maintained; however, you don't get the feeling of being in a "Grand hotel." Grand Hotels in Liguria have a slightly different presence and appearance. The room was nice, elegant, but a bit dated... and the safe was malfunctioning (it didn't activate according to the instructions). All in all, we had a good time, and the reception would have even sent a technician to the room for the safe; unfortunately, having little time, we preferred to use the safe in the other booked room. The beach is very convenient and well-equipped; I recommend booking it in advance 👍 I really liked the breakfast, very elegant and romantic, with a wide selection.
