La Meridiana

We have stayed at La Meridiana a number of times over a 20+ year period. The hotel is always outstanding. Very stylish, clean, great beds, excellent and friendly staff. You are always made to feel welcome. A great, family-friendly place to stay. Recommended.

The English use the expression “home away from home” and I believe that, for this hotel, it fits perfectly. Because La Meridiana is NOT JUST a beautiful hotel: it is also home. Home because of the familiarity of the owner, Mr. Segre, and all of his staff, who always do everything to welcome guests in the best way and make the stay a very, very pleasant experience. And they do it with a naturalness that is not at all taken for granted in a hotel of this level: you feel welcomed and pampered, without ever having the feeling of being simply “customers”. La Meridiana is elegant and refined, but at the same time warm and relaxed. It is precisely this, in my opinion, that makes it special: it offers everything one expects from a Relais & Châteaux without losing that personal and familiar dimension that makes the difference. There are hotels where you spend nice vacations and then there are some where you are already thinking about when you will be able to return. La Meridiana definitely belongs to the second category. We have been coming back here for twenty years now and, every time, we find the same familiarity, the same warmth, and the same attention. Perhaps this is the true meaning of “home away from home.”

We spent two days at this property and are widely satisfied with the service, location, and quality of the food (both at the breakfast buffet and at the hotel's Rosmarino Restaurant). We could not have asked for better for our return to Italy from France. A special mention to the host, Edmondo Segre, who helps make his Relais magical, well-kept, and special.
