During our two-week trip to Italy this was by far our favorite accommodation; I wish we stayed here longer. Clean, modern, good location close to the beach and train station, and it has a private patio where you can have your morning coffee or just relax in the afternoon. Kitchen was fully equipped, beds were comfortable, and there was AC, though I found it difficult to use. High-speed Wi-Fi. Two brand-new maps of Monterosso were provided for us, along with other information about the Cinque Terre such as boat timetables, restaurants, and hiking trails. The window to our room faced the street, where people frequently walked by, somewhat reducing privacy, but curtains and retractable shades make this less of an issue. The hostess was very helpful and friendly. Just make sure you tell her when you are coming so she can be there to greet you.

Verdeacqua is not your normal accommodation but is a great base for a few days. Verdeacqua has its own courtyard for an afternoon read and drink, it has a kitchen and coffee maker. If you want all the trimmings hotel staff this is not for you. But I liked the independence of this place having no reception was a small problem but generally Maria Elena was around and quick to respond to any issues A few notes for travellers in the Cinque Terra. Monterossa is the best place to stay - whilst the other villages are nice to visit there is not enough there re restaurants etc. Monterosso has the best beaches, all trains stop there, it has the best range of restaurants and more to do.

We stayed in this hotel in July 2012 and as you can see I am a little late in submitting my feedback. In fact we only booked this hotel as it was one of the very few left with short notice. We were also worried reading no service desk and having to pay cash. Thanks for the Expedia reviews on this it helped. I am posting late as I have read some recent reviews and it does not do this quaint little place any justice. It is a great place to stay. We made sure we called the owner the day before our arrival and the lady agreed to met us at the nominated time. In fact we arrived 2 hours early and we called her and she was glad to come early and got there within 10 minutes of the call. So don't worry about no reception just call and plan a time. Get your cash before arriving. The location is fantastic just 2 minute walk from the beach and main strip of the new town. It is in a very quiet location so we slept well. The rooms were modern and very clean with all modern amenities. Loved the heated towel rack for drying clothes. I would seriously encourage you to consider this place. In spite of no reception the owner is very accommodating.
