Hotel Paco

The hotel was very accommodating. They made me feel comfortable with only knowing English. They front desk was very friendly and helpful with suggestions on where to eat and directions around town. The breakfast was very nice and the staff was always there to help and bring you another coffee.

I was rather worried about parking in Pietra Ligure, as it is well known that finding a place is difficult. I booked this Hotel because the parking lot was sure. When I arrived they told me that I should find a place to park my car on my own., because it was fully occupied. Fortunately, late at night I found the only free place where I wasn’t forbidden to park. I think they should be more honest and tell this in advance, so you can decide if you take the chance or change hotel.

Overall, the hotel is OK, rather dated, about 25 minutes walk from the station. The rooms are reasonably sized, with large beds, and a rusty balcony. It is clean but staff are inattentive as toiletries are not replaced. The food was fine, nothing special, and the restaurant staff very helpful. we enjoyed the pool and beach, free with deckchairs, and 10 minutes walk away. Our holiday was completely spoilt at check -out by the receptionist, who seemed to lack all professionalism. The bill came, we paid then realised it was inaccurate, and we had been charged for too may bottles of wine. We asked to see the itemised bill BUT the scandal is the receptionist refused to show it to us, saying it was in the bin! She was patronising and made no effort to sort it. In the end we had to leave to catch a train. Beware of the practices and ethics of this hotel and ask for an itemised bill.
