Unfortunately, our stay at Hotel Canali was a major disappointment and did not come close to what we expected from a 4-star hotel. The biggest problem was the air conditioning, which was completely inadequate. The room was uncomfortably hot and the system was unable to cool it properly, making it very difficult to rest or sleep. For a hotel of this category, especially in summer, this is simply unacceptable. On top of that, the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. We reported the problem, but the only solution offered was adding a mattress topper and changing the pillows, which did not really solve the issue. There were also other problems during our stay: the safe stopped working, the breakfast was poor, with low-quality bread and coffee, and the overall standard of the hotel felt well below its advertised category. The location is another important point. The hotel is described as being only a few minutes from the center, but in reality the walk takes around 20–25 minutes. What disappointed me most was the lack of an effective response when we raised our concerns. When guests report problems that seriously affect their comfort, I would expect management at a supposedly 4-star hotel to provide a real solution rather than temporary fixes. In the end, we decided to leave the hotel and continue our stay elsewhere. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Hotel Canali. There are much better options in Rapallo for the level of comfort, service and quality one should expect at this price and category.

Very disappointing experience – we left the hotel early Charming hotel in photos, but our experience was extremely disappointing. The location is advertised as being only a few minutes from the centre, but in reality it took us 20–25 minutes walking, partly along a narrow and poorly lit pavement that felt uncomfortable at night. The air conditioning did not work, and only after complaining were we told that the problem affected the entire second floor. Despite later being told it had been fixed, it was still blowing warm air and the room was unbearably hot. We were moved to an older, lower-category room without the terrace and sea view we had paid for, with an extremely hard mattress and uncomfortable pillows. The next morning, the only solution offered was a mattress topper and different pillows. The safe also stopped working, and breakfast was disappointing, with particularly poor-quality bread and coffee. Technical problems can happen, but the lack of transparency and an adequate solution was unacceptable. We ultimately left the hotel early and moved elsewhere. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Hotel Canali.

After one night in your hotel, we are very disappointed with everything. First the room, it’s on the -1 floor, no view and doesn’t look 4 stars even from the corridor. We were given room 3, meant for disabled people. The toilet is very uncomfortable, the shower has no door and water spreads in all the room. The AC is awfully noisy and the sofa bed can’t be used, we had to put the mattress on the floor for my son. No coffee or tea in the room, no toiletries (toothbrush, razor.. should be provided) We said it to the girls at the front desk in thé afternoon but well, who cares ? One of them even seemed to be amused by what I was saying ! Breakfast was just average: minimum choice of food, poor quality of taste. We met an 81 year old man at breakfast who told us he had to carry his own luggage from his room on the third floor as the lift wasn’t working. Don’t choose this old, dilapidated and certainly no more than 2 stars hotel
