This was fabulous, old fashioned elegance which has long since disappeared from many hotels. I loved this place, let down a little by reception who gave an impression of not being bothered but the stay was just so fabulous his attitude was insignificant!! A definite to revisit

I stayed at the Hôtel de Paris in Sanremo with my 11-year-old daughter, to whom I wished to offer an exceptional stay in a quality establishment. The hotel is indeed very pleasant, with beautiful facilities and a quality breakfast. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply spoiled by an event that, for my daughter, is much more important than a simple lost object. During our stay, her teddy bear, about twenty centimeters tall, disappeared in the room. It had been given to her by her grandmother before she passed away and therefore had an absolutely irreplaceable sentimental value for her. We reported its disappearance and sent several emails to the hotel so that searches could be carried out. Despite our repeated requests, the bear was never found. What shocks us the most is ultimately not that a mistake can happen: that can unfortunately occur. It is above all the way this situation was handled. We had no feedback from management, no personal word of apology, no real gesture showing consideration for our daughter's grief. Our exchanges remained with the reservations department. It was even implied to us that we might have taken the stuffed animal out of the hotel ourselves. At 11 years old, my daughter obviously does not walk around the streets of Sanremo with her teddy bear. She only sleeps with it. We had requested that the searches be thorough, in particular by checking what could have happened during the room service or housekeeping visits. We were very disappointed to find that no real steps seemed to have been taken to understand where this bear could have disappeared. For an establishment of this category, we especially expected listening, empathy, and handling commensurate with the situation. Today, our 11-year-old daughter is still without her grandmother's stuffed animal, and what was supposed to be an exceptional stay for her remains associated with a great disappointment. Since then, she has had difficulty sleeping. We could have understood the loss of an object. We have a much harder time understanding the lack of human reaction to an object whose sentimental value we had explained from the start. It is truly a shame, because without this incident and especially without this handling of our complaint, we would have kept a very good impression of this hotel.

This hotel is a gem. Perhaps on the outside it won’t impress you but once you step inside it’s true Italian decadence at its best. Check in is smooth and staff is friendly. Rooms are huge! Breakfast takes place in the most charming and elegant room (in relation to what you pay, that is). Foodwise a wide selection, unlike some of the hotels that only serve continental breakfast. A very charming hotel, centrally located. We have been here 4 times and will definitely return.
