Best Western Regina Elena

Just returned from 10 day break at the hotel. Brilliant facilities and location but what made the holiday were the staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Ten minute walk to the centre of town. Has its own private beach and beach bar. Should be 5 star rated.

First of all they have very nice 👍 rooms. Second the lobby has nice 😊 books to look 👀 at . Third the people who work here are very nice 😊 . Fourth the restaurant serves the best Pesto lasagna in the world 🌎 .I would recommend the Hotel 🏨 Imperial over the Best Western .

Among many hotels of the same category where I have had the opportunity to stay, while acknowledging that it is located in a nice place and a nice location (but that certainly cannot be enough!!), this is one of the worst for value for money ever, and I will explain the reasons: 1) External and internal environments in need of modernization: obsolete external structure; doors and floors of the rooms showing signs of age; "only" "prehistoric" elevator that is small, uncomfortable, and old; small terraces without privacy and absolutely in need of renovation. 2) Very small rooms, albeit renovated, and new but impractical bathrooms (there is no surface, for example, to place a toiletry bag or toothbrush holder). Insufficient in relation to the category. 3) Breakfast not adequate for the category; coffee by queuing at the only 2 self-service automatic dispensers for all guests; no assortment of yogurt; very little fruit; industrial-type cold cuts; little choice of cereals. 4) There is a panoramic solarium terrace on the roof with a few sun loungers, a hot tub, and a larger tub (it cannot be called a pool as it is not suitable for swimming) where you can cool off if it is hot, but there is an intrusive presence of video cameras, one of which points exactly at the row of sun loungers, and not at the pools (tubs..). Astonished to notice the presence of video cameras!.. Why ever??... This should be stated at the time of booking!.. In the event that they are not removed in the meantime, one must demand to formally know the real reasons and what happens to the footage! (see photo). 5) Generally little care for guests at reception: no one accompanied us to the room, as is good practice in this star category, and after having “politely” expressed justified complaints, I only received hasty words of circumstance aimed at not meeting my needs; in other 4-star hotels it does not work like this (and it must not work like this)! In short, it seems like the classic hotel made for trips organized by agencies, tour operators (in fact, every now and then buses of groups of foreigners arrive) where the details count for little!
