Hotel Baia Blu

This is a typical small family run hotel. The hotel is not much writing home about. We were 4 adults travelling together and had two double rooms. One facing the front and the train tracks and the other at the back. The room at the front was quite noisy thanks to the train passing every hour. The other room was just fine. So if you are considering staying there ask for a room at the back. The rooms were spacius, cleane and well maintained. The decor of the hotel is a bit dated (but that's of course a matter of tast). The rooms were cleaned every day and provided with new towels. The breakfast was ok, but simple compered to norwegian standard (but that's how it's done there). The beds are quite hard and the pillows are just a joke. There is just one lady speaking fairly well english, but the rest of the staff does'nt. We did'nt find the staff were attentive or friendly. We got what we asked for, but nothing exstra. Some of the staff didn't bother greeting us back with a "buon giorno" when we passed them. All in all not the best hotel experience, but we enjoyed Alassio which is a nice small town with a great beach.

We went there in the summer and the room was alright but the walls are extremely thin and We could clearly hear people talking in other rooms. I had to go out and knock their door to tell them to keep the noises down. Our room was practically in the dining area and it made awkward for us to go out at times. I guess we were unlucky to get that room. The people at the reception were nice and lovely.

we stayed end of May 4 nights at Hotel Baia Blu and really liked it. Nice, conveniently-located near both the seaside and the citiy centre. Nice room, nice bathroom with shower and toilet. Nice terrace (we were at top floor). Clean, silent (thanks to double-glass window, since the train is right in front of the hotel) . Good continental breakfast. Very gentle welcome by the Owner and kind service by personnel. Only minus: no parking place. You have to park far from hotel (5 min walk approx., it depends on how far you find a free parking) in general a good quality stay, comfortable and to be suggested to other people
