Hotel Atena

The only positive note and what a hotel is just meters from the metro and tram, otherwise it was a nightmare. I stayed from March 31 to April 2, 2026 with my daughter. They let us in first because the room was already ready, and after a while my daughter wanting to shower found towels soiled with makeup, I told this to the owner who instead of apologizing with much arrogance said that I soiled them in when I had showered. Which is not true. Room number 110 very dirty, bed without slats as photos, broken blanket, sheets do not smell of laundry. TV volume stuck at 20 units and you can't hear anything, we woke up with bites I don't know if of mite or anything but I saw the lice jump from my foot on the ground. Phon burned and very dirty, dangerous. Be careful when booking because there is a health hazard. All documented by photos. Not worth it given the cost there is much better. Then I repeat the owner and very dishonest and arrogant. Trying to believe. Very disappointed, I had never had something like this happen. And still open given the tourism and the place that is, otherwise it would have closed long ago. I hope some good local saint calls them health checks. Ah I forgot they do not want to pay with the card what you buy example water (3euro) only cash also the tourist tax in cash. Avoid

The hotel was a small one. The room was not easy to get in and out of. The bathroom was very small and the shower was extra small and hard to get in even for a small person. There was a large step down upon getting into the room and also to the bathroom. A manual key had to be used to enter the room. It was not easy to get the door open which posed a safety hazard after locking door when in for the evening. I found the towels to be thin and the packages of shower gel small in the amount for an average size person to use, luckily I had my personal soap. Didn’t find instructions on how to adjust the temperature of the room so it was uncomfortable at times.

We stayed two nights on December 25th in this hotel. We were very well served at the reception, all very polite and respectful. Upon arriving in the room we had a bad surprise. 1) Old room 2) The room was taking by smell of sewage that we couldn't even stay inside. Fitting too much, it looked like a valley. We went to the reception and they said it was a plumbing problem but they would not have another room for us to offer. Could not refund us pq we paid a cheap fare at the booking. In summary: I booked another hotel and I will see how I will do to get the refund because it was impossible to stay in the room. P
