Hotel Wagner

More than a 4-star hotel, I would call it a luxury boarding house; do you remember the boarding houses from 40 years ago? There you go. Small rooms with carpet, not even very clean. The only advantage is the stop for the Metro and a Conad practically right next door. €120 plus €20 in city taxes, with an extra €15 for breakfast... a rip-off.

The location good for clothes and nearby businesses. The room is very small, basic. The bathroom without light, the shower extremely small the box that does not allow showering. The toilet flush is broken. We were charged breakfast when we withdrew even though it was expressly stated that it was included. The reception staff of bad modes and lack of information and willingness of attention to solve inconvenience. I don't recommend it.

This is a good value hotel but definitely not a place for a typical tourist. The location is convenient for the metro & trams & local shopping. Even getting a map of Milan was not possible at the front desk. There was one helpful English speaking staff member but he had no local knowledge of anything we needed. (Laundry, where to buy ice, tickets for the metro, shopping, etc) It was a bit frustrating though he was a pleasant person and did his best. It seems that the hotel lacks in training. The rooms were a bit depressing in terms of decor. Original “mid century modern” that truly need a change. But the beds were comfortable. The biggest issue is air quality. After changing rooms due to a funny smell, the new room had a very noisy HVAC. The only way to sleep was to try to cover the vent. When we looked at the vent it was thick with dust. It needed attention & we reported it but nothing was done during our 5 night stay. I hope the owners see this review so they can work on attracting more visitors because the location is a huge bonus. It was recommended by a local friend who was trying to support the hotel’s business as we would never have found it on our own.
