Hotel Aurora

A nightmare... After traveling 500 km on a motorcycle, exhausted from the exceptional heat of the season, we found a stark and extremely hot room. The air conditioning was not working... Shower with a curtain and the hairdryer was not functioning. Without any possibility of cooling down, we spent a horrible night and paid 140 € despite our complaints made in the morning about the lack of service!!!! Our complaints were of no use. An old, outdated hotel that absolutely does not deserve the money spent. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

– Hotel Aurora – Via Rezia 73 If you are looking for an authentic 70s experience, with a touch of survival training and post-traumatic bark disorder, the Aurora Hotel is the right place. The hotel is immediately outdated, still about 50 years ago, both in furnishings and services. The reception is consistent with the environment: not very nice, not very helpful, perfectly in line with the general atmosphere. Entered the room, first welcome gift: a dated and unwelcoming decor. Uncomfortable beds. Dirty floor. Refrigerator bar cabinet present only as a decorative object, because inside the fridge not even the shadow. I call reception to ask for at least one bottle of water (also for a fee of course): I am told, by the owner, with some sufficiency, that I can safely drink tap water because it is “pure”. Too bad the tap comes out brown. Real brown. Only after a few minutes it returns to an almost transparent color, a clear sign of old and probably corroded pipes, with release of sediment and metals. At that point, despite being night and in January, I get dressed and go to the parking lot to get a bottle of water from my car. Only then seeing me come back with the bottle of water does the owner say: “Ah, but I could have given it to him, I had the bottle.” He could have told me before, maybe avoiding the bale on the “pure” water I say to myself and sketch a smile. He insists he always drinks it. I sincerely wish him long life, but that water is anything but drinkable. The TV is tiny, with few channels, hanging practically from the ceiling: I understand that the best option is to close your eyes and try to sleep. After a couple of hours of silence, in the middle of the night the real protagonist of my short stay at the Aurora Hotel comes on stage: a large dog, which will bark without interruption and without mercy all night. Not a few minutes: all night! It seemed at the foot of the bed, with a baritone barbar, a continuous thunder until morning. Around 7–7:30 the big dog lowers the tone slightly and I can at least close my eyes even without sleeping And this is where the hotel’s organizational genius is at its best: It makes me light a jackhammer right above my room! I'm calling to report both the nocturnal dog and the demolition wake-up call. The answer, this time from the self-styled owner: “We know nothing about the jackhammer.” Too bad you can see a plumbing van clearly in the parking lot from the bathroom window. Evidently, they were opening tracks in the hotel... maybe the same pipes where brown water came out? The hammer continues for another 40 minutes, I recall once again, and only after a further quarter of an hour do they stop. Subsequently I am admitted, again by the owner, candidly that he was one of their workers. At that point the stay is obviously compromised. I am simply asking for a gesture of common sense: a small discount on the full price of a room used for everything but sleeping. Answer: hands in the sky, indignant looks and total rejection. It's all right. I pay, 82 euros, thank you for the sleepless night and I leave. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who does NOT need to rest, or to those who want to test their resistance to noise, brown water and creep for the customer who unfortunately books at this property. Room neither spotless nor well maintained, not as in the photos. Zero services. Zero reception. Zero customer focus. Over breakfast we draw a pitiful veil. Memorable experience. The wrong way.

Structure very NOT RECOMMENDED. Old and dirty structure, hard mattresses and pillows, really rude staff. As you can see from the photos at check-in the room was very dirty! Also, after our cleaning request, the owner responded very rudely and for the rest of the stay was very rude to us. The water, as you can see from the photos, was really terrible! Brown water was coming out of the shower and the limestone was coming out of the sink. The hot water was never there and always went down flush... in short, you could never take a shower! Breakfast really poor in food. The only positive note was the dinner...quite good.
